Method Acting
Method acting is when actors try to think and feel emptions that their characters feel so that their performance can be more lifelike and realistic. Stanislavski was a russian film director who developed a system from which method acting was created. Marlon Brando uses Method acting to get into the mood in which he can play his character the best, that way his performance is much better.

Favorite Actors
My favorite actors are Leonardo Dicaprio and Denzel Washington. I think that a good actor is one that makes their performance seem as natural as possible. They make it seem like they are the person that they are portraying. They must also make their performance interesting and attention grabbing. It has to be memorable for them to be considered good actors.

11-1-2010 English HW (Hamlet)
1. Hamlet's speech on pages 26-29 is a soliliquy because it is him alone on a stage talking about his thoughts and feelings, no body else can hear him except for he audience.
2. Hamlet is very saddened by recent events and believes his life is useless even going as far as saying that he wishes his "flesh would melt, thaw and resolve itself into a dew".

10-25-10 Hamlet Questions
1. In pages 10-12, Horatio explains to Barnardo and Marcellus why the country is preparing for war. He explains that there was a conflict between king Hamlet and king Fortinbras of Norway, and that they fought each other and king Hamlet won, thereby gaining Fortinbras' lands. However, Fortinbras son wants to reclaim the lands so he raised an army to challenge the country.

For/Against MPAA
I am for the MPAA rating system, but i believe that there are some things about it that need to be changed. The rating system is very useful because it helps parents determine whether or not they should allow their kids to watch certain movies by the ratings that the movie is given. Its ratings are based on the contents and plot of the film. The thing that I don't like about the rating system is that it gives the MPAA too much power. Although it is not mandatory to submit your film for rating, most films that aren't rated don't make anywhere near as much money as they could have.

Hays Code
The Hays Code was the set of censorship guidelines for the production of motion pictures in the U.S. by major studios from 1930 to 1968. Some of the things censored by the code included: sexuality, ridicule of religion and things that could get the audience on the side of the criminals. Hollywood studios followed these rules so that they could avoid censorship by the government and so that they could regulate themselves. Today, you can see alot of stuff in movies that you couldn't back when they hays code existed. These things include sexuality, excessive swearing and heavy violence.

Chaplin Vs. Keaton
Chaplin: He worked without a script and improvised through out his films, which was a very expensive way of filming. He used more slapstick comedy and was much more straight forward with his humor.
Keaton: He had a script for all of his movies. His humor wasn's as straight forward, he built up to his jokes more than chaplin.
Both: Both of them were directors and actors in comedies. They both did thier own stunts in their movies and had no stunt doubles.
